The Tech Inc. Mercury Analyser Sampling System (model TI-SCS-HG) takes two high-pressure natural gas streams and conditions each for an on-line mercury analyser. Many gas fields carry mercury at trace levels, and it attacks the aluminium heat exchangers of gas processing and LNG plants. Trace mercury also clings to cold or untreated surfaces, which makes the sample path as important as the analyser. The system reduces pressure in heated regulators, removes liquids and switches the two streams to the analyser in turn.

Main components

  • Two inlet streams with isolation valves and particle filters
  • Heated pressure regulator on each stream
  • Membrane separators and coalescers to remove liquids
  • Stream-switching valves with flow and pressure control
  • Heated, inert-treated sample path to the analyser
  • Calibration and zero gas connections
  • Heated stainless steel cabinet, with analyser mounting to client specification

Applications: mercury monitoring at the inlet and outlet of mercury removal units, feed gas to gas processing and LNG plants, and export gas and pipeline quality points.
