The Tech Inc. Sour-Gas Autoclave for H2S Service (model TI-SCA) runs high-pressure, high-temperature tests in hydrogen sulphide (H2S) service inside a sealed 5-litre pressure vessel. It comes with an H2S handling package that feeds, holds, purges and vents the toxic gas under control. Materials and corrosion laboratories use it to expose metal coupons, stressed specimens, elastomers and coatings to sour gas, brine and hydrocarbon.

Main components

  • 5-litre autoclave with Alloy C-276 wetted parts and bolted closure
  • Specimen racks and holders for coupons and stressed specimens
  • H2S gas feed panel with regulators, check valves and isolation valves
  • Nitrogen purge before and after each test
  • Vent line to an H2S scrubber
  • H2S gas detection with alarm and automatic shut-off of the gas supply
  • Heater and temperature control, pressure transmitter, relief valve and rupture disc

Applications: sour corrosion testing, cracking resistance of metals, elastomer and seal qualification, coating and inhibitor testing, and materials selection for oil and gas service.
