City gas distributors use the station at city-gate and district points to feed domestic, commercial and industrial networks. Power plants and gas-turbine operators rely on it for gas at a stable pressure with measured flow, and industrial users install it at the plant boundary. On transmission pipelines it serves as the offtake that hands gas over to customers and downstream networks.
