Desalter Skid

• Single-stage desalter – one wash and coalescing stage for moderate salt content.
• Two-stage desalter – two stages in series for higher salt content or a tighter outlet target.
• Electrostatic desalter – an electric field coalesces the water droplets for faster separation.

At fields, the desalter brings crude to the salt specification for export or pipeline transport before it leaves the site. Small and modular refineries use it upstream of the crude heater and distillation column, where salt and water cause corrosion and fouling. Packaged dehydrators serve fields that need water removal without full desalting.
