The Tech Inc. Flash-Drum Sampling Station, Design B, adds monitored collection to the proven flash-drum principle. Level and temperature indication on the drum let the operator see the contents and confirm a safe temperature before a 4-litre sample is collected. An eye-wash station and sun shade make it ready for outdoor refinery service.

Saudi Aramco ordered Design B in 2026, following supply of the Design A stations.

Key features

  • Level gauge on the flash drum, rated 1500 psi, giving the level indication SABP-A-109 requires on two-phase pots
  • Temperature gauge in a thermowell: collect only below 140 °F (60 °C), so no hot liquid reaches the bottle
  • Throttle valves on the vent for metered, controlled depressurisation
  • Check valves on inlet and vent: flow goes one way only
  • Spring-return sample and drain valves that open only while held
  • 4-litre sample bottle for larger laboratory volumes
  • Eye-wash station and sun shade at the sample point
  • Fully mechanical: no power or instrument air required

Applications: crude oil, condensate and liquid hydrocarbon sampling at refineries, gas-oil separation plants and production facilities.
